J.T. Steiny just started a war. His new work, “I Started a War” tells the story of an irrational, dream-like world the artist created in his mind. J.T. Steiny is a storyteller. He has published several books including, F*ck the Earth, F*ck, Porniture, Honky Mo-Fo, Well, and Highly Evolved Cheese. His large-scale watercolor paintings are filled with brlliant, vibrant colors, depicting worlds inhabited by giants, angels, and bizarre creatures. When he’s not in his studio, J.T. works in the Communication Arts Department at Otis College of Art and Design as Senior Lecturer. He has contributed numerous illustrations to Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Smart Money, Sony Records, Rhino Records, and L.A. Weekly. His love of illustration and storytelling inspired him to start a book club with a small group of artists in which they create handmade books and share stories. Steiny lives in Los Angeles. Visit
