Artist Bio::
Katerina Kovatcheva, is a Bulgarian-born artist, graphic designer and art teacher who is a permanent resident of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, where she has resided with her family for the past 15 years. She has won numerous awards and recognition for outstanding performances in countless artistic themes and settings over the years, and all over the world. Katerina holds a Master’s of Art Degree awarded by the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria — one of the largest and most renowned artistic educational institutions in Eastern Europe. In her youth she was a fashion designer, in 1995 she operated her own fashion studio, and ran her own fashion line with her own designs of winter and summer clothing. She has since worked for various hotel chains and institutions around the world — as an independent portrait artist, caricature artist, stage design coordinator and design planner, as well as a coordinator for all artistic projects and themes for multiple hotel institutions such as RIU Hotels & Resorts in the Dominican Republic, Atlantis Hotel Paradise Island in The Bahamas, and various other resorts throughout the world, as well as annual events held both at home and abroad.

Katerina also has an earnest passion for teaching and has devoted many years of her life to the education of students in many Bahamian schools, government and private alike, working as an art and craft teacher for all levels of students from grade 1 to pre-college. She has proudly led her classes to multiple best achievement awards on a national level for several years in a row. Katerina speaks five languages.
