I bought my iPhone in October 2009, a birthday present to myself. The camera was easy to use, that nice big screen and everything, so I began shooting photos with it and posting them to Facebook as a kind of visual journal. The quest for interesting pictures forced me to slow down and examine my day-to-day surroundings more closely, and I was surprised at some of the simple beauty that had been slipping past me, the striking images that hadn’t been registering. Taking these pictures brings me closer to the real world, and that’s where I want to be, always.
